The tour is a mixture, visiting historic and sacred sights and wildlife viewing, in this exotic part of India. We start at Chennai in Tamil Nadu to see several of the best known historical sites. We travel by private coach so that we can see the country side and stop en route as we wish. In Kerla we visit Periyar National Park, the home of the largest herd of wild elephants in India and tigers. Near Alleppey we tour the backwaters on a converted rice barge, staying overnight on board. At Cochin we see the ancient Chinese fishing methods and the Jewish Village before going to the hill station of Munnar. En route to Karnataka stay at Nagarhole Nationa Park. After sightseeing at Mysore, the tour ends with an afternoon train back to Chennai. Duration: 19 days Destination covered:.
